He studied Traditional Chinese Percussion under Quek Yong Teck, former Principal Percussionist and current Resident Conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra.
His Western Percussion tutors include David Hockings, Principal Percussionist of the BBC Symphony Orchestra; renowned international percussionist Wu Xinyi; and Matt Perry, Principal Timpanist of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.

Performance & Outreach Profile

An active and highly acclaimed Singaporean performer, Chong Wei has represented Singapore and the Singapore Chinese Orchestra at music festivals and concert tours across South Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, China and more.
To advance the development of percussion music in Singapore, he has collaborated with the Ministry of Education and numerous local schools in recent years to deliver lectures and masterclasses.
He has been featured in exclusive profiles by media outlets including BR-Klassik (Munich Classical Radio), Channel NewsAsia, The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao.
