ABOUT US

Jinan Guyun Percussion Instrument Co., Ltd. is located in the beautiful and fertile Zhangqiu District of Jinan City, known as the "Little Spring City". The company's predecessor began as a workshop-style family production in 1992, mainly focusing on making ethnic percussion instruments.

After encountering Mr. Liu Hanlin, an expert in traditional Chinese percussion music from Beijing (Honorary President of the Chinese Traditional Percussion Music Society) in 2002 and receiving his guidance for several years, our company has made significant improvements in technical and production capabilities through the continuous guidance and appraisal of various percussion music experts in the following years, including Mr. Zhang Dahua (Vice President of the Chinese Traditional Percussion Music Society), Mr. An Zhishun (Honorary President of the Chinese Traditional Percussion Music Society), Professor Zhong Donghe, Mr. Li Dongfang (Deputy Director of the Folk Music Orchestra of Shandong Song and Dance Theater), and Mr. Li Changjun (Chief Conductor of the Beijing Traditional Orchestra).

In the future, the craftsmanship of drum rhythms will become increasingly refined, incorporating modern elements into traditional production techniques to further enhance quality. In 2006, Zhangqiu Drum Rhythm Percussion Instrument Factory was established. Due to the development needs of drum rhythms in recent years, Jinan Drum Rhythm Percussion Instrument Co., Ltd. was founded in 2014.

Our company primarily produces five-tone row drums, six-tone row drums, row drums with muted drums, flower pot drums, Korean farm drums, folk drums, Chinese big drums, flat drums, war drums, and folk yangko drums. In 2009, Guyun collaborated with Master Liu Hanlin, the honorary president of the former Chinese Ethnic Percussion Society, to develop the integrated frame five-tone row drums and six-tone row drums. These row drums are convenient for performances, saving time and effort for stage transitions. Guyun's row drums feature innovative designs, excellent craftsmanship, elegant appearance, and a powerful, vibrant sound. The high pitch is solid and forceful, while the mid and low pitches are rich and sonorous. Our products are sold across various regions in China and have received widespread recognition from our customers.

In 2011, after consulting with Professor Li Zhengui, Mr. Zhang Dahua, Professor Wang Yidong, and Professor Wang Jianhua, Chairman Wang Lingxin partnered with the American company Remo to produce the current Remo drumheads for the special topic of Chinese five-tone drumming, which was highly successful.

In October 2022, the drum-tuned mechanical lifting universal stand officially entered mass production. After more than two years of continuous design, modification of production plans, and 3D drawings, the combination and adjustment of each metal part, and hundreds of rounds of experimentation and installation, the entire stand was finally born.

Founder's Introduction

In early 2018, the Professional Committee for Instrument Reform and Manufacturing of the Chinese National Orchestra Society, in collaboration with the "Chinese Folk Music" magazine, jointly announced the top 30 Chinese national musical instrument manufacturing enterprises of 2017, as well as the lists of the top ten entrepreneurs, makers, and innovators in the field of Chinese national musical instruments.

This is the fifth consecutive year that the Music Reform Committee of the China Music Administration and the "Chinese Folk Music" magazine have announced the "Top 30 Chinese Folk Musical Instrument Manufacturing Enterprises, Top 10 Entrepreneurs, and Top 10 Craftsmen" list both domestically and internationally. Following the first release of the "Top 10 Reformers of Chinese Folk Music" list in 2017, this is the second time the list has been published.

The promotional and commendation activities for the ethnic musical instrument industry organized by the Music Reform Committee of the China Ethnic Music Management Association in 2017 shared commonalities with those of previous years, while also exhibiting differences. The commonality lies in adhering to the principles of objectivity, fairness, and seeking truth from facts. The activities aim to publicize, through a ranking list, enterprises and individuals who have made contributions to China's ethnic musical instrument industry over the past year. The promotion of enterprises and individuals through the annual ranking list of the ethnic musical instrument industry also serves as a concentrated publicity for the industry, enabling more and more people to understand the status and role of the ethnic musical instrument industry in China's traditional culture. The contributions made by entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and reformers in the ethnic musical instrument industry to national traditional culture are increasingly recognized by society and respected by the people.

The distinguishing aspect is that many new faces were added to the various rankings of the ethnic musical instrument industry in 2017, with a greater emphasis on young and middle-aged entrepreneurs, craftsmen, and innovators. At the same time, social and corporate nominations were combined. On the one hand, well-known craftsmen and innovators from society were recommended. On the other hand, through corporate recommendations, workers and technicians who have been quietly toiling away in obscurity within enterprises were brought to the forefront, allowing society to better understand them.

In recent years, through our continuous promotion of the ethnic musical instrument industry, society has become increasingly aware of the role it plays in national economic and social life. On January 25, 2017, the General Office of the CPC Central Committee and the General Office of the State Council issued the "Opinions on Implementing the Project of Inheriting and Developing Excellent Traditional Chinese Culture." Chinese culture has a long and illustrious history. The excellent traditional Chinese culture, nurtured over more than 5,000 years of civilization, embodies the deepest spiritual pursuit of the Chinese nation, represents its unique spiritual identity, and serves as a rich nourishment for the continuous growth and development of the Chinese nation. With China's profound economic and social transformation, increasingly expanding opening-up, rapid development of Internet technology and new media, various ideological and cultural exchanges and confrontations have become more frequent. There is an urgent need to deepen the understanding of the importance of excellent traditional Chinese culture, further enhance cultural consciousness and cultural self-confidence; there is also an urgent need to deeply explore the value connotation of excellent traditional Chinese culture, and further stimulate its vitality and vigor.

The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China further emphasized that we should promote the creative transformation and innovative development of excellent traditional Chinese culture, inherit revolutionary culture, develop advanced socialist culture, remain true to our roots, embrace foreign cultures, and face the future, so as to better build Chinese spirit, Chinese values, and Chinese strength, and provide spiritual guidance for the people.

Chinese traditional musical instruments are an important part of China's excellent traditional culture. Every enterprise, maker, and innovator of traditional musical instruments bears a great historical mission. Each of us, as entrepreneurs, makers, and innovators of traditional musical instruments, is not only a producer and reformer of these instruments, but also a loyal inheritor and promoter of China's excellent traditional culture. In this great era, we must stay true to our original aspiration, keep our mission in mind, take on new cultural responsibilities, create culture through practical efforts, and achieve cultural progress through historical advancements! I wish our entrepreneurs, makers, and innovators of traditional musical instruments greater progress and more brilliant achievements in the new year.
